About Prakash

Prakash has been with Cisco for 3 years. In his current role he leads network cross technology team that develops Platform Independent network protocol and control plane software, workflow/development tools and programmability solutions for all EN/DC/SP infrastructure BUs. Prakash brings a diverse set of experiences, including the development of multiple generations of switches and routers for DC and Enterprise Networks, Converged Infrastructure platforms, and a large-scale Cloud platform and DevOps framework.

Prior to joining Cisco, Prakash was an Executive Director at Verizon where he was responsible for developing and deploying Verizon’s Cloud platform hosting various Verizon’s applications including Personal Cloud Storage, and ThingSpace IOT platform. Before that he was the VP of Engineering in Force10 Networks, where he worked from its inception on building and leading the protocol and platform software engineering teams. He joined Dell as part of its acquisition of Force10 and continued to lead the software team in realizing Dell’s converged infrastructure(network/storage/servers) solutions.

Prakash lives in Cupertino with his wife and two sons. In his free time, he enjoys doing yoga, reading business/spiritual books, home improvement projects and hiking. Prakash is a big enabler of leaders and teams to chase big dreams. He is passionate about building great teams and products.
