Sean G. Heyniger, is a Palm Beach, Florida resident with extensive experience and success in building entrepreneurial companies in the healthcare and technology industries. Mr. Heyniger’s executive leadership and investment thesis principally involve opportunities to disrupt and transform traditional industry delivery systems through the integration of technology and platform workflow solutions.
He began his career with PSS World Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSSI), a leading national distributor of medical supplies and equipment to office-based physicians holding various leading sales and management positions, including EVP of Corporate Development, with responsibilities in acquisitions, corporate strategy and business development.
In 2000, Mr. Heyniger Founded and served as CEO and President of PDSHeart, Inc., a Web-based cardiac and wireless monitoring business which effectively integrated wireless technology into the cardiac market with 18,000 cardiologist across the US. PDSHeart was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the Fastest Growing Companies in America in 2006. Mr. Heyniger completed the sale of PDSHeart to CardioNet, Inc. (NASDOQ: BEAT), a national wireless cardiac services company, generating significant returns over 25x in 2007.
Currently, Mr. Heyniger serves as CEO and Co-Founder of Watermark Medical, Inc., a healthcare platform company started in 2008 that is transforming the way healthcare providers diagnose and treat patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Diabetes. , OSA is a sleep breathing disorder that affects 50 million people in the US and today 20 million patients are suffering from diabetes . The combined annual healthcares spend for OSA and Diabetes is over 320 Billion. The Company has rapidly emerged as the leader in the delivery of diagnostic and therapy solutions. Watermark Medical's disruptive delivery system and end-to-end services program’s for both OSA and Diabetes have driven the company's rapid growth, leading to successful strategic and venture-backed capital raising efforts in excess of $45 million from the top investors in US.
Mr. Heyniger also serves as Managing Partner and Co-Founder of South Ocean Growth Equity, LLC, an investment company focused on providing intellectual and growth capital to entrepreneurial healthcare and and technology companies. He is Co-Founder of Taligenix LP, an implantable platform device company focused on cardiac pacing and electrical stimulation products and services focused in the worlds emerging markets.
