Sandeep Johri is Vice President of HP Cloud Strategy and is driving the cloud strategy and solutions across HP. Prior to this role, Johri was the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and Industry solutions, and was responsible for the overall strategy for HP’s $57 billion Enterprise Business and also for driving vertical and horizontal industry solutions. Prior to this role, Johri was Vice president of Corporate Development for HP Software and the Personal Systems Group. In his work for HP, Johri has played a leadership role in several of the company’s strategic moves into software, data security, mobility and cloud computing.
Mr. Johri was instrumental in developing and implementing a Software growth strategy which resulted in HP’s software business growing at twice the industry average over the past 4 years – now representing a $4B business. Johri also led the acquisition and successful integration of 12 software companies valued at more than $7B, including Mercury Interactive and Opsware, two of the largest software acquisitions done by HP.
Johri also drove HP’s entry into the $100 billion smartphone and connected mobile device market resulting in the acquisition of Palm.
Most recently Johri spearheaded the development and launch of HP’s Cloud Solutions for Hybrid Delivery helping to establish the company as a leader in cloud solutions for Enterprise businesses.
Prior to HP, Johri was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Mayfield Fund, a leading venture fund in Silicon Valley, where he was instrumental in the formation of two security startups, Determina (VMware) and Bluelane (VMware). Prior to that, Johri was the CEO and Founder of Oblix (Oracle), a leading provider of enterprise Identity Management solutions.
Johri was the founding board member of several other startups, including eBoodle (Shopzilla.com), one of the first e-commerce comparison shopping service, Dhingana, a leading Bollywood music streaming service, and Livedeal (OTC: LIVE) and an early investor in Netezza (acquired by IBM). Earlier in his career has also held management roles at Silicon Graphics and Gemini Consulting.
Mr. Johri has an MBA from Stanford University, a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University.
